Frore Systems has unveiled its latest cooling solution for enterprise AI, the LiquidJet Diamond, which boosts AI profitability & efficiency.
Frore Systems Rolls Out LiquidJet Diamond That Incorporates Diamond Wafers Within the Cold Plate for Lower Temps & Increased Token Output
AI Factories are popping up across the globe, and one challenge in keeping up with this immense demand is cooling. As data centers expand, new ways to increase their efficiency are required, and Frore Systems has come out with its latest solution, the LiquidJet Diamond.
According to Frore Systems, the LiquidJet Diamond coldplate takes the existing LiquidJet design and upgrades it with the implementation of Diamond. This new coldplate is said to boost tokens per watt throughput and AI revenue generation by 35% versus traditional skived coldplates.
Now the main building blocks are the same as the original LiquidJet, which employs a unique 3D ultra-short-loop multi-stage design. This design can be customized as per the needs of various GPUs and accelerators so that the coldplate is mapped for each GPU, including its hotspots. The original design already offers a 12C reduction in GPU die temperature, which Frore Systems states is a 25% boost in tokens/watt.
With LiquidJet Diamond, the company is adding an additional spreader to the coldplate that integrates diamond wafers to the bottom of the coldplate. This implementation further lowers temperatures by 10C, leading to an overall 35% increase in tokens per watt (efficiency).
“AI Factories are facing major performance barriers,” said Seshu Madhavapeddy, Founder and CEO of Frore Systems. “GPUs are increasing power density and creating extreme hotspots which, if not properly cooled, hinder the GPU from maximizing performance.
LiquidJet Diamond, which features an integrated diamond spreader in addition to innovative 3D ultra short-loop multi-stage design, can cool extreme hotspots up to 770 W/ cm2, unleashing high-performance AI GPUs and delivering even more AI Tokens/Watt.” He continued, “When each GPU is more efficient, each AI Token costs less to produce, and more AI Tokens can be generated within the available power budget, using the same AI Factory infrastructure. This increases AI Factory profitability, while conserving local resources.”
Frore Systems has also compared the LiquidJet Diamond to traditional cold plates. LiquidJet Diamond offers:
- Hotspot cooling: over 150% higher max power density
- 75% higher heat transfer efficiency
- 16 - 22 °C cooler GPU
- 30 - 35% more AI Tokens/Watt
- Seamless drop-in upgrade
With LiquidJet Diamond, Frore Systems aims to solve high thermal performance and high-volume manufacturing challenges. In addition to that, the cold plate is designed with the growing nature of chips in mind. We are seeing chips getting larger and larger, with Blackwell Ultra measuring at 1488mm2, and Cerebras's WSE (Wafer-Scale Engine) measuring at 46,225mm2.
