JGINYUE Debuts B650 AIC for $58, Boasting a 10 Gbps USB Type-C port, Four M.2 Slots, and Support for 40mm Fan
Another hardware manufacturer has debuted its own Add-in-Card based on the AMD B650 chipset. A few months ago, we heard about such a B650-based AIC by Lekuo, which turned the PCIe slot into several ports. Now, JGINYUE has launched a new B650 AIC that brings AMD's B650 chipset to a PCIe expansion card. It offers additional connectivity for systems that have limited motherboard expansion options.
This B650 AIC is an interesting approach as it doesn't require users to replace their motherboard to gain additional chipset connectivity. By adding the B650 platform through PCIe expansion cards, it helps expand the connectivity options easily. JGINYUE has made a few changes to the final retail version of the B650 AIC compared with earlier versions shown during development.
The most notable addition is the 4-pin fan header. However, this doesn't provide speed control, which means users won't be able to dynamically adjust the fan speed through the card. That said, the company has also added two mounting standoffs to the PCB, which allow users to install an optional 40mm fan directly onto the card for superior cooling.
This fan won't be included with the AIC, so users will have to buy it on their own. One more interesting fact about this AIC is that it brings a 6-pin PCIe connector. Unlike what you would expect from this, the company says it exists to provide auxiliary power for the USB connectivity. JGINYUE recommends using it even when the card is being used only with m.2 SSDs.
So, basically, the power connector is there to provide additional power headroom. As far as connectivity is concerned, the AIC brings four M.2 slots to support fast NVMe SSDs, a 10 Gbps Type-C port, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, and one 2.5 G LAN. JGINYUE has announced that the 20 Gbps version will also arrive later. As for the pricing, this AIC is priced at 388 Yuan or US$58.
