NVIDIA RTX 50 Series Takes the Lead With 66% Price Hike in Germany While AMD Trails With 46%, Followed by Intel With 38%
If you wanted to take a close look at what happened in the last 12 months, then 3D Center has published a report to show the actual pricing trend of the current-gen GPUs. We know GPU prices started soaring at the end of 2025 after RAMpocalypse started pushing DRAM prices upwards, but it wasn't until the second half of 2026 that we saw significant price hikes for GPUs.
3D Center has been tracking the GPU prices for the last 12 months across various German retailers, which show that NVIDIA RTX 50 GPUs saw the biggest price hike compared to AMD and Intel's current-gen GPU families. Almost every SKU in the RTX 50 series saw at least 50% price hike in this duration, but some went over 70% such as the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB.
16 GB models particularly saw more hikes due to higher VRAM capacity and demand, but the flagship GPU remains the only one with over a 100% price hike. Here, we have the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 price rising by a staggering 132%, a crazy hike that significantly pushes up the average price increase across the entire RTX 50 series. Meanwhile, the average price hike on AMD RDNA 4 GPUs remained under 50%.
One might expect removing the RTX 5090 from the list to bring the average price hike of RTX 50 series GPUs below that of RDNA 4 GPUs. Unfortunately, that's not the case. Even without including the RTX 5090, we have an average price hike of nearly 57%. This is much higher than the 48% price hike RX 9000 saw in the last 12 months, with the Radeon RX 9060 XT 8 GB being the most affected model in the region.
Even today, the RTX 50 series-equivalent RX 9000 cards sell for much less, resulting in higher sales in Germany. Intel Arc Battlemage GPUs, on the other hand, didn't experience a very sharp hike, as they were already unpopular due to lower demand. On average, the Arc B580 and Arc B570 saw a combined average price hike of 38% during this period.
