Chip stocks fell on Tuesday after rebounding from a recent sell-off as sentiment around the AI trade remained shaky.
The PHLX Semiconductor Index (^SOX), which climbed more than 1.5% on Monday, was poised to open lower.
AI chip giants Nvidia (NVDA) and AMD (AMD) declined nearly 1% and 2%, respectively. US chip maker Intel (INTC) stock sank more than 2%, giving back Monday's gains after JPMorgan upgraded the stock to a Buy rating.
Concerns over the AI trade resurfaced following a disappointing market debut by South Korean neocloud provider Clice, Inc. (0158S0.KQ).
Shares of CoreWeave (CRWV), a data center operator that rents out computing capacity, were set to open lower on Tuesday after a rebound attempt fizzled in the previous session.
Other chip stocks declined on Tuesday, including contract chip maker Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM), which was poised to open 2% lower.
Shares of central processing unit (CPU) designer Arm Holdings (ARM) declined 2%.
Memory highfliers Micron Technology (MU) and SK Hynix (SKHY) were also poised to decline, giving back some of Monday's gains.
