AMD Expected to Increase GPU-Memory Set Prices, Affecting the Radeon Lineup as Soon as November
The price hikes are never-ending, and almost every month, a new price hike is implemented by the major GPU vendors. AMD is now set to increase its GPU prices by a noticeable margin in the coming days, as ChannelGate reports increased component prices. As always, this increase is implemented by AMD on its GPU + Memory bundle, which it ships to its board partners.
The board partners then make the required PCB and cooler before the GPUs are shipped to the retail channels. Because GPUs and memory chips account for a significantly larger share of procurement costs than PCBs and coolers, a small increase in GPU or memory prices can easily affect the overall price of the GPU stack. According to the popular supply chain source, ChannelGate, AMD is going to increase the price of its GPU + GDDR6 memory set in November.
As soon as the board partners receive the components at a higher rate, the effects will be visible on the market. So, it may take a few weeks before you see any noticeable change in GPU prices.
