A YouTuber pulled out a 4kW AC radiator to test out multiple NVIDIA GPUs, including the RTX 3080, to see just how well this cooling solution would perform. As an added bonus, the content creator also added the notoriously power-hungry and prone-to-fail Core i9-14900K to see if the same cooler could handle both components running in unison. The results show that this setup worked better than expected. The AC radiator was also tested on the RTX 5060, but its lack of overclocking headroom didn't make it a practical experiment By creating a proper water loop, as enthusiasts do for their custom builds, the YouTube channel TrashBench repurposed a used Fujitsu AC radiator into a CPU and GPU cooler. With a few modifications here and there, the first candidate was the RTX 5060. Unfortunately, due to the lack of overclocking headroom, there was little purpose in attaching such a monster of a cooler to a graphics card that wouldn't benefit from this cooling, so an RTX 3080 was used in its place. As you can see, at stock clock speeds, the RTX 3080's GPU temperatures dropped by 37°C, which obviously meant that there is a ton of flexibility when overclocking the graphics card, especially when there is insane cooling at TrashBench's disposal. With its stock power limit in the 320W-350W range, the AC radiator helped raise that figure to 459W, with its core clock increased to 2,130MHz. To really push the limits of this configuration, Intel's notorious Core i9-14900K was added to the mix. When running a combined CPU and GPU test, the Core i9-14900K reached a 230W power limit, but its temperature only dropped from 74.8°C to 71.7°C. TrashBench notes that such a miniature delta was likely due to using an unspecified water block, which may not have provided proper contact with the processor, leading to underwhelming results. Regardless, the YouTuber states that he is surprised at how well the AC radiator worked, but the stock pump used was incredibly noisy. Then again, if an AIO tailor-made for CPUs and GPUs can produce such incredible thermal results, it is no surprise that an AC radiator should perform miles ahead.
