The report comes as speculation about a potential partnership with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) (TW:2330) raised concerns among investors.

Musk said earlier this week that he was in discussions with TSMC about collaborating on Terafab. Intel signed on as the project's development partner in April.
Tan said Intel would remain involved in the project ahead of an event in Tokyo marking the U.S. chipmaker's 50th year of operations in Japan, Bloomberg reported.
Terafab, a collaboration involving Tesla, SpaceX and xAI, is planned to include two factories, with one focused on chips for Tesla vehicles and humanoid robots and another intended to support AI data centres in space. The project ultimately targets one terawatt of computing capacity a year.
Terafab is part of a broader global push by governments and companies to expand semiconductor manufacturing capacity to meet surging demand driven by artificial intelligence.
